Texas Attorney General Files Lawsuit Against Pfizer, Alleging Deceptive Claims on Covid Vaccine Effectiveness

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has initiated legal proceedings by suing pharmaceutical giant Pfizer, the manufacturer of one of the most widely recognized Covid vaccines. Paxton alleges that Pfizer vaccine provided false information about the effectiveness of its Covid-19 vaccine, deceiving the public.

While medical experts widely acknowledge the effectiveness of the Pfizer vaccine in preventing severe illness and death from Covid-19, Paxton contends that the company exaggerated its claims.

According to Paxton, Pfizer Vaccine made misleading promises about the vaccine’s ability to end the Covid-19 pandemic within a year, and he asserts that conditions for people even worsened after receiving the vaccine.

In November 2020, Pfizer declared that its vaccine was 95% effective within the first 28 days after administration. However, Paxton disputes this claim, considering it another falsehood presented to the public.

The lawsuit further alleges that Pfizer attempted to deceive individuals who were critical of the vaccine.

In the legal filing, the Attorney General seeks $10,000 for every misleading claim made by Pfizer, potentially amounting to over $10 million. Pfizer, in response, dismisses these allegations as baseless, asserting that their vaccine has played a crucial role in helping people worldwide.
